Looks like Steve Cooper is our new manager. Apparently 1.2 Million compensation agreed with Swansea. I am surprised our Chairman has gone for a Manger where we have to pay compensation when others are available. Still think he has limited club experience apart from being involved in the England set up. We have to get behind him.

Brilliant, another Hughton. Loves 1 up front and lots of defensive midfielders.
More boredom then- and to pay £1.2 million for his services is nothing short of a bad joke.

2.) 18 Sep 2021 10:58:54
We have to get behind him 100% and not expect that the results are going to start flowing immediately. We know the squad as it is isn't capable of challenging at the top. Hopefully he can steer us to mid table and we have a much better transfer window next summer.

No we don’t…. he’ll be sacked by xmas anyway poor poor appointment oh well more disappointment.

4.) 18 Sep 2021 11:23:02
His Swansea beat us 5-1 in the FA Cup last January. Get a grip, folks.

5.) 18 Sep 2021 11:24:14
How do you know that damson?
Even before his first game.
Not sure what you where expecting as new coach.
At least he hasn't got a promotion on his cv so that's a good thing😁.

6.) 18 Sep 2021 12:26:28
My opinion ff79 not a good appointment IMO
Not the sort of manager i would have thought we’d have gone for was hoping for a change in direction a more attacking and football playing type of manager ie wilder, Howe or even a foreign manager with new ideas, but no same sort of 1 up top boring football manager ie Cooper.

7.) 18 Sep 2021 13:09:31
We've tired 2 up top Damson, still can't score goals.

8.) 18 Sep 2021 15:39:58
Agreed Gazza, not my preferred choice but give him a chance.

To all the people who doubted Cooper before he even got here, I hope that pie tastes OK for yas 😂😂.

Eddie Howe seems to coming into the frame and Chris Wilder still interested.

Yes please to either one.

2.) 17 Sep 2021 15:50:47
That’s more like it anyone but cooper, how about Steve Evans from gillingham great personality and has lots of passion for the game.

3.) 17 Sep 2021 18:30:47
Damson I’m sure he’d improve our fitness levels 🤷🏻‍♂️
He could also bring his mate, Prince bill with him 🤣.

I see the compensation has dropped from 1.2 Million to £500,00, Does this include compensation for the two Swansea Coaches that are coming with Cooper? Is Steven Reid being let go?

tula

1.) 21 Sep 2021 12:19:59
Swansea were paying Cooper and one of them still. They would obviously want to get them off the wage bill, so won't be asking for massive amounts of compensation.

2.) 21 Sep 2021 15:02:11
Reid is staying on in Cooper's coaching team.

Why no announcement on the new Manger? Has something gone wrong? It has gone very quiet.

tula

1.) 20 Sep 2021 21:33:08
I hope so. Jumping in too quick with cooper me thinks. Why not consider the likes of Terry? Like Lampard he can develop the youth and is a proven winner. Wilder or Neil also have a steelyness about them.

2.) 20 Sep 2021 21:33:23
Maybe giving read another game . see how it turns out. also to save 1millon.

17 Sep 2021 14:22:20
Looks like Hughton's Assistant Paul Trollope has also left the club. Steven Reid is being assisted tomorrow by Warren Joyce. Perhaps they will get the job if we win?

Do we want John Terry, an untried rookie Manager?

tula

1.) 17 Sep 2021 13:00:28
Just read an article saying it would be just like Dane Murphy to surprise us all by going for a European manager he's done it before with pretty good choices, I would say yes as long as he was a proven achiever, the article mentioned Christian Ilzer someone like that would fit the bill 🤔

2.) 17 Sep 2021 13:34:38
No to Terry, too much of a gamble for someone with no experience or track record, look at Shrek with the sheep, dreadful. Not all good players make good managers. We need to hit the ground running and catch up with the pack. Wilder or Howe for me and Cooper if we have to.

3.) 17 Sep 2021 14:01:23
I think it could be one of these two
Leonardo jardim
Gerrard struber
Both have links to us through Murphy and olympiakos at 25/ 1 I'll have a fiver on each.

4.) 17 Sep 2021 14:59:05
I not to fussed who comes in I just want to see some decent football and at least look like we are capable of winning a match, looks like it not be wilder not got to he budget he wants, cooper sounds like a younger Houghton so why not throw caution to the wind try a young manager, the managers we've had last few years all sounded good on paper look where that's got us.

5.) 17 Sep 2021 16:39:12
No we don't.

Steve Cooper has only manged one Club - Swansea City and at present he is on gardening leave. We would have to pay maybe 2 million compensation, he has another year on his contract. Okay he was involved in the England set up, but he is short on club management.
