I knew the Luton result would do for us and that gave Bournemouth the kick they needed.
I know most on here, me included, would be happy with play offs before a ball was kicked. But let's be real, it's been a poor division this year with the likes of boro Brom, Blackburn all faltering, even Bournemouth had a huge wobble. So 2nd spot was there for the taking with the Bournemouth game almost a stage 1 play off match.
I'm not saying we can't get up via the playoffs merely saying that 4th place a little bitter to swallow. I was looking back to the start of the season under Hughton. Many hate him and his style of football but that was harsh as he did not have the full compliment that Cooper inherited. Worral was out grabban was out, he dug into the academy with soh, fornah, Gabriel and could not get the back 3 he wanted to go with. Spence was getting match fit and Davis I don't think had arrived yet.
I hope of all the players we need fit for the play offs is Davis. His style of play and aggression has been missed and up against Sheffield united we will be bullied. Cooper will need to be more in and at it to overcome this hysterical lottery called play offs. Has he got the BALLS We will soon find out.

No excuses for Hughton ,even when we were drawing he was urging the players back, I believe all he wanted was a good pay off which he secured, got to be a contender for worst ever manager at CG.
He was also terrible with the under 23 ,s treating them like Sh— and not bothering to watch them or give them any encouragement, this comes from within the club ,he was a complete disgrace.
CARLO

I don’t think the Luton game did for us at all mate, to get autos we’d have needed to win every game at the end of the season, which I think is unrealistic to be honest . I think the sheff u game was the game that got away personally.

Carlo, I don’t agree at all that he came for a payout, he would have come to succeed, he didn’t and he was awful but he wouldn’t have wanted that .

Houghton said Johnson wasn't ready for the championship and Houghton was the best cure for insomnia known to mankind. Wake up Rutters your usually spot on . 🎈.

I think if can get past sheff utd, we can go all the way. They was the only team, I was wishing, we could avoid. Next Saturday is going to be massive. UREDS!

Good post Rutland I always thought the same about Houghton and that he never had the full complement of players that cooper has had, so think he got treated a little harshly by supporters which I hate to see as things are not always as black and white as we like to think, which is why he got my full support from the stands just hoping he could turn things around for his own sake as well as the supporters, Houghton had a impossible job from the start IMO which Rutland has put very well, so watch out cooper you've failed to get us up automatically with the Bournemouth game, fail again against Sheffield utd and the knifes will be out. just like life things aren't as simple as you think, as most of us know nothing, there's more to life than just what we see and hear.
Remember that folks.

No excuses for Hughton. He was clueless, useless and out of touch. The tripe he served up was mind numbing and he’s the worst manager we’ve had since Platt. Plus he just talked B*ll*cks.

We don't know everything that went off with Houghton though do we, so I prefer not to judge when I don't know all the facts and that goes for everything in life not just football.

Agreed Jolly and the over riding point I may not have been clear about cooper has made some poor decisions, in my humble opinion and largely it’s the same group of players. Some of the results have been lucky and some good folk on here have stated that some players are not giving it it everything. It’s a bit like the way Pearce was rushed out the door when he was assembling a good young team and embraced the whole culture of the club. His sacking was down to impatience through a disasterous injury period. I just don’t subscribe to cooper being the messiah. Great manager for sure but, but he has an Achilles heel and his faith sometimes misguided…

Hughton would not know what to do with our full compliment of players
Spence would get dropped for going to far over the halfway line for starters.
Worst manager in our history and a very unpleasant experience having to watch his dull football and his dull demeanour.
Like I said never wanted him here and so so glad he's gone.

Spot on Rutland the Stuart Pearce sacking sickened me to the very bowls of my stomach and hurt me like you wouldn't believe, as he is one of my heroes, the way he was treated was disgusting, thanks to impatience from some of our so called supporters.
Still sickens me to this day the way psycho was treated and that's the closest I've ever came to walking away from the club for good. just disgraceful treatment of a great forest legend that is and always will be Stuart psycho Pearce.

Psycho should have (watched out for the skin deep)
He was treated with absolute contempt which is disgusting and unforgivable, to say all he did for nottingham forest football club and can't believe he still wants anything to do with us. what a guy he is. I'm not worthy.

I can't honestly believe that we are comparing Hughton favourably against Cooper. It's not just the obvious, that we have gained an impressive 80 points, it's the way the club, the fans, the city have come together and are buzzing.

What we after remember is no gaffer here for a long time as had the backing that coopers had this season with dane Murphy now sorting out the transfer of players the club in a whole is becoming a lot better time and the right players what Murphy is targeting and we will get there either this season or next hope Cooper stops with us best gaffer in a long time done brilliant this season whatever happens.

15.) 08 May 2022
08 May 2022 17:08:50
Karanka got more backing than anyone with carvalho dias and gongalves plus colback and many many more.
Your right skeggs Murphy is buying or targeting loans of quality, instead of the dross load we normally buy in quantity.
It's also young players we are signing and not journeymen.
The bomb squad is down to one Harry arter.

It’s no coincidence that Pearce hasn’t managed since legend of a player but no good as a manager, poor decision to employ him from an impulsive owner acting with the irrationality of a star struck fan, it was never going to work and Pearce was taking us to league one . No matter how loud we all shouted his name it got worse, being able to to shout psycho at the the top of my voice to my absolute hero (which he is ) wouldn’t have made Playing in league one palatable - he had to go.

I Disagree I think Stuart Pearce should have got more backing and more time to improve our squad don't forget he bought in Antonio and assambalonga if I'm not mistaken. impatience from some of the crowd as usual, same thing will happen with cooper if everything goes pear shaped next season he'll get the chop too probably.
No patience these days that's the problem IMO.

I'll take a misguided Cooper all day long
Last twelve games won 9
Drew 1
Lost 2
That's unbelievable stats end of.

Thats 4 of us long term poster that agree me, Rutland, Bowie and skegs that there's a problem with patience and respect, within the fan base no wonder there's always been a divide amongst us fans which is a problem.
We can see it why can't everyone else, just bizarre.
