Seems like we also have an unsung hero in Ameobi. There were those on here who were underwhelmed when he came in during the summer, and several thought he wasted the ball a lot, but this last few months he has developed really well, and his part in the last games V Leeds and WBA should persuade people he is a vital part of the team. I still have to be convinced that Diakhaby can replace him effectively though.

I will say this I’m no ameobi fan and he’s done well to get 6 assist this season. but christ he’s so annoying. looks like a proper player for 5 mins then a donkey the next. iv never seen a player be good and bad this many times in a game. what summed him up was when silva/ lolley passed a ball that had a little too much on it and he just turned and moaned, lolley would of chased it down as it went into loads of space.

I think it takes the likes of Diakhanby to come here to remind you how effective Ameobi is.

With a ball zipping past you in that rain and wind at WBA it might be better to conserve energy. Ps when Stanley Matthews had a ball aimed at him head height he used to duck and then turn to the crowd and hold his hands up shrugging his shoulders. It got a laugh and he wasted the ball.

I was the same as Stanley matthews😁
No way was I heading that ball, the laces came keen and the leather ball was rock hard.

You got that right mate.
Even at my age he was too old for me to have seen in live football.
Can always remember turning up for fairham and I was the only kid who had steel toe capped football boots, I kid you not on that, we had little spare money and they belonged to my elder brother and with three pairs of thick socks fitted perfect.
Didnt worry about tackling😁😁.
