Six weeks not six months.

Is this true? Who implemented and enforced the ban? If it’s true and it was a six week ban that’s hardly going to stop players taking it? It’s rife in any town or city but no place for it in professional sport - anyone caught should be made to do community work in Drug/ Alcohol abuse hostels and see the real side of taking drugs not the ‘so called glamorous’ highs seen by the flash crowd with more money than sense.

{Ed001's Note - the FA enforced the ban, they never reveal these bans. It is claimed that they do it to protect the players' but it is to avoid damaging the game's reputation.}

Murphy didn't have to speak out about it he made the decision to tell everyone and of his regret in taking cocaine.
Could have stayed quiet and know one would have known.

FF79 he shouldn’t have been allowed to keep quiet, make choices and deal with the consequences. Right or wrong- stand or fall 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Round here you’re named and shamed in the local paper for knicking a joint of beef from the coop, in the ‘football’ world you can do what you want and be protected.

If he regrets it and is trying some form of apology or appeal to fans, when he’s finished training get down to some volunteering at a help centre-then it’s a pat on the back from me.

Wasn't sticking up for him 2 tone, its a drug that's everywhere and taken by employees in every walk if life so football will also be affected by it.

Unless your dealing then the police don't have time to do much about it unfortunately.

Nephew and sister in law do drug tests and interviews for jobs, you'd be suprised how many fail or cut the interview short when they find out they need to take one.

Even frankie dettori got banned for taking it and a few other jockeys it's a problem across society and footballers can't be immune from it.

I do think the fa bans should be made public though and any sort of criminal offence.

Did his ban involve a fine or non payment of wages.

Give him a ring on speed dial and ask him.
