Well the season is over so thought i'd return from my time on the beach ;-)
Im sure were all a bit drained and deflated from what has been a season of ups and downs twists and turns i'm sure i'm known as a Billy Davies fan too but here is my end of season round up with a few rumours thrown in.
Lets start with billy being sacked. I think any fan who ignores the injuries of this season being our biggest downfall under Bd and Brazil are doing a disservice to both managers. Weve been plagued with a freak season and that is the only reason these two managers didn't manage to get us in to the top 6 which was the target.
The rumour I heard around bd being sacked was this. Due to the results of the time Fawaz and fans became frustrated with the situation (as was I) after fans bombarding players and Fawaz over the results at the end of a few weeks of rows between Bd and Fawaz and his team Fawaz had enough at the end of the Derby game and went down to the dressing room to address the players and the coaching staff. Bd and Ned refused this and another bust up began but Fawaz backed down. Billy was sacked on the Monday morning. that's it. i'm told that every player was gutted Billy and his team left. i'm also told that Fawaz was saddened that the relationship between he and billy had broken down but he felt the club was suffering.
Now let's be clear. Both of these men wanted the team to do well. Billy is not a manager that likes to lose and Fawaz is a Forest fan with the club at heart.
Fawaz had at this point been advised and had decided to take a step back from his immediate involvement within the club. A CEO. as he has said already will come in as of the summer. I believe the lack of CEO is one of the main reasons for the breakdown in relationship between BD and Fawaz but that is opinion only. Fawaz has taken a lot on his shoulders and it has affected him healthwise and been mentally draining.
Fawaz then looked for a replacement but after Neil Warnock embellished the truth on talksport and certain managers were unavailable Fawaz and John Mcgovern opted to let Gary Brazil take charge and offer Pearce the job after he has fulfilled his commitments elsewhere. The decision was taken to swiftly end what was going on because of fans unrest and media running with anything they could.
So let's get to now. Were finishing mid-table we've put some youngsters out and seen some glimpses of what they will bring in the future and we have next season to look forward to under Stuart Pearce my boyhood (and my adulthood) hero. i'm not going to point fingers at people because I do not believe anyone is at fault in our season.
To BD and his team. Thanks for trying to get us to the promised land I don't doubt that you had NFFCs best interests at heart and many hours were spent in that editing suite trying to guide us there. My only dissappointment comes from you not addressing the fans which I believe was misguided.
To Fawaz thank you for being a supporter of our club and for single handedly saving us and investing some of your wealth in us I thank you for your efforts past/future to get us back to the premier league. My only dissappointment is that I believe sacking billy was a little temperamental but I know it was a true fans frustration and I thank you for being man enough to acknowledge your own misgivings and for taking the decision to appoint a CEO and for appointing a man I would follow in to fire as manager.
To John Mcgovern thanks for helping Fawaz steady the ship and take a hold of things. A legend and a great ambassador for the club.
To Gary Brazil. Thanks for taking over in such difficult circumstances and helping to steady the ship. I believe people have been unfairly critical of you but I can certainly acknowledge that it can't have been easy taking over and trying to lift the whole club. I think youve done a fantastic job and shown the youngsters great incentive for the future. I hope you remain at Forest in one capacity or another for a very long time and help breed the next set of Forest Legends.
To the players. Some I despise some I love I can only say that in difficult circumstance it can't have been an easy season. let's hope next year is more successful and for the ones who I believe pulled on the shirt and knew what it meant. Thanks for nearly getting us into the top 6.
To Stuart Pearce. I know where you will take my team in time. I don't believe you will fail I will be supporting everything you do next year. I know youll be giving and expecting 110% and with the quality we have and that you will bring in I know we are premier league bound in the next few seasons if we stick with you.
To the fans. I hope we applaud Gary Brazil next week at the last game as a thank you for taking over turbulent times. And next season we have patience with a legend who will maybe take a season or two to find his feet and take us up. Top 6 next year will be a success. So as always back your club back your manager back your chairman. We will get there. Come on you reds. FTID

{Ed034's Note - what you've heard about billy being sacked is wrong. You know I am/was a billy fan and I genuinely hope he can sort himself out, but it was billy who got himself sacked and have fawaz no choice.
You are right the players were hoping he could turn it around, but not one of them were surprised and the majority, even though liked being managed by him, thought it was the right decision.
He was sacked on the Sunday, not the Monday.
The only was billy will get another job is if he can persuade someone he has sorted his head out, because that is the reason most people think he has give into self destruct, because he needs help.
