According to local NEP, Lyle Taylor is in talks with us. Is he any good? How do you guys rate him? Bit concerned that he's 30 to be honest and think we should perhaps be looking at a younger striker.

Good striker. Had a great season for charlton last season. Can be greedy at times but is certainly something that can be adjusted to his game.
I will be very happy if we sign him. 3 year contract done/
Ideally we’d sign Toney instead or get both. (Seen Grabban has been linked to a couple of clubs in Middle East, maybe these two in if he leaves)

If lyle is greedy then he won't be playing alongside grabban who he himself is greedy and selfish😂.

Not sure we can afford Toney or dealing with Barry Fry again! But agree he's type of forward we should have in to replace Grabban.

Interesting to hear Peterborough interested in Tyler Walker as replacement for Toney. Has proved he can do well at that level maybe a loan to them and they can turn him into a 10m valued player 😀.

These days with their diets and fitness, strikers go on a lot longer, at least 3 more years from Taylor.
At 35 Teddy Sherringham scored 21 goals in 33 matches, Man Uniteds top scorer that season and won PFA and FWA Player of the Year too, not too shabby for an old boy.
I think Taylor is a great FREE signing for us if true.

Teddy was an exceptional player, no comparison with taylor who has been a lower league journeyman coming to prominence with Wimbledon.
Ok as back up but don't get carried away he's a 20 goal striker at this level.

The point was, you're not done at 30, Taylor contributes a lot to a team, not just scoring goals, ask any Charlton fan.
