Question for ya reds, myself and work mates were talking about refs today. How many on here think there good enough, that's not just the championship but football as a whole. can't be an easy job. But as we all know there well paid these days. Do you think they need further education in the sport, think some are still looked after 😉 etc. Actually ED could i also ask your opinion?

It's disappointing there isn't a good programme for ex-pros to move into officiating.

In fairness I think some of the refs have been decent this season. It’s a hard job they get one shot at it and they make mistakes. It’s part of the game. That utter Shoite VAR can’t get it right from multiple angles so give the refs a break. For example I have seen garner and Yates make what on first view look fair challenges which the ref gave fouls. Seeing the replay you could see what dreadful challenges they were and I thought fair play to the ref who only got a full speed single view. The refs aren’t always right but they are always the ref and that is the way it should be. VAR is killing the game from a spectators point of view.
