On reflection we need to count our lucky stars (2 of them) that we secured enough points for Championship football next season. Spare a thought for Ipswich fans (unless you're Mick McCarthy) and League 1 football, been there and got the t-shirt. They wanted 'better' football and are now paying the price. Norwich going up will be the knife twisting.

Agree1 Disagree1

On reflection there is so much negative energy created by Forest fans against the team and manager that this season has exceeded all expectations under the circumstances!

Come Scouse Me Duck glass half full?

Spot on.its a good job we got the points on the board when we did because we're in relegation form at the moment.the players need to take long hard look at themselves.they get paid handsomely for their job at us fans deserve more.can they honestly look back over the season and be happy with what they've done

I note that alex neil has signed a three year deel at preston who have been average this season perhaps they want stability as well.

1952 mate Watford swap managers as often as we do ‘instability ‘ doesn’t seem to do them any harm

I think that Watford are a few years ahead of us regarding restructuring behind the scenes. That, to me has been our problem for far too long. Embedded systemic failings. Our owner is clearly working towards rectifying this! I shall refrain from using a glaringly obvious cliche! YOU REDS!

I wouldn't always so they that red we have are hopes built up quite a lot especially this season biggest chance we've had in years to at least get top 6 this season especially fans are entitled to be pissed off especially the fans that go week in week out no matter what

I think we just need to face the truth. We are currently a mid table championship team. We have some good players and some average players, this puts us in an above average position, most probably 10th. We also have a few players who have gone on their holidays so that may drop. How do we bridge the gap? In my opinion we need to play systems to get the most out of our good players. Lolley for example is at his best cutting in from the right, so why play him on the left? Carvalho might not be part of the rough and tumble brigade but his strengths lie in linking play between midfield and attack and making space for other players to attack. Matty Cash is learning his trade but looks to me to be more Frank Lampard than John Robertson. I think a midfield 3 of Osborn Yates and Cash would give us pace, stamina and an attacking threat but they will all be able to put a tackle in. My biggest concern is our full backs because Robinson is good but hasn’t got cover, and the other two aren’t convincing. Defence seems to be our current weakness but we need to move players on before we can get improvements in.

A little history lesson for all of you with short memories of this season.

First ten games you were all moaning as AK got to grips with his new squad despite not losing matches.

Sorted out his back 6 and we looked really solid and good progress made.

Lost all our regular centre backs which is the base on which we start to play

Then someone lost their bottle despite the fact we were still on course for a top six finish and we had a management change.

Addressed the centre back issue but then totally changed the style of play and personnel instead of building on the pre season plan that the players had bought into.

You cannot expect results to improve while integrating new defenders and forwards while changing the system for those already in the team.

Promotion dreams died against Villa and MON has been sorting out his wheat from the chaff since then for next year.

Yes we blew it big style but its the man that pulled the trigger not the manager or the players that are to blame as they are all good enough to have got us to the play offs without the turmoil. MON is clearly playing a longer game so went back to GO in Jan and do not collect £200!

Off course the managers have to take some of the blame, Warburtons tactics were soon sussed out by the opposition, and Aitor's answer to everything was get as many players as possible in, regardless of quality.

Aitor loved playing players out of position, keeping in form players out of the team, and going to the media saying the very players he brought in attitudes were not right, really good for team morale.

LC Where have you been watching your football this season? Clearly not at Forest.

AK stopped all the round hole and square pegs nonsense of yesteryear and had the team playing for him and one another!

You conveniently ignore the fact that our defence was decimated just before Christmas which caused the blip in results. The only thing that needed fixing at Christmas was some new defenders to replace the injured ones!

Maybe you should watch the match more closely instead of just reposting tittle tattle you read from back bedroom bloggers?

Osborn was played in three different positions under Aitor, Cash was played in two different positions, Soudani was played in two different positions, Lolley was played in two different positions.

You call that playing players in their natural positions?
