Appalling performance last night. A lot of hoof balls up to nobody. No creativity, no final ball and Ansarafid's only input was a silly salmon dive. MoN don't put him back in the team. Saying that, when you're 2 down and need a spark what do you do? Bring on a pacy goal poacher? No, instead you bring on Murphy. Then when out of all ideas you throw Gocalves into the mix. Forget top six. Tbh I'd say forget top 10. I was one of those shouting for MoN to come in. I'm regretting that decision. Boring football.

We will win the next game and we will be in the hunt for the playoffs again. This has happened all season - Harsh to blame it on MoN. Really if we can't win two games in a row do we deserve play offs?

That must be frustration, Martin has not brought in anywhere near as many players as Karanka did when he first game, so this is not a Martin O'Neil team, inspite of that in the short time he has been with Forest he has improved the team.

Karanka had a hard task to take Forest from near relegation to try and get in the top six but after the January transfer window the team was his, he made a load more signings in the summer, yet we were only marginally better after both windows under Karanka.

Martin has brought in about two thirds less players in January than Karanka did, and in a short space of time we already seem to have improved more than we did under Karanka.

Should Martin be given the same amount of funds as Karanka had in the summer then you can truly judge him.

Martin has made mistakes, and he will most likely make more mistakes but to judge so harshly so early into his tenure i find alarming.

Good post LC.

I agree LC.Clearly there is a positive feeling since Martin took charge, and though he has made mistakes, many positives like the defence, introduction of Yates etc Villa had Abrahams playing and Kodija on the bench in comparison and a team who have been together some time.Without Grabban,we rely on set pieces,Murphy holding it up etc because MON has not much else to work with.I think some credit should go to a Villa side who played very well.We have the best run in compared to other clubs around play offs,so the chance is there.More in hope than expectation tbh.Summer will provide MON his chance to mould what we have with some additions and departures and then it will be fairer to judge him.

Last night was just forest all over we get a nose bleed when on the cusp of playoffs but everyone was saying we were amazing an going to get playoffs after Saturday, we’ve just got to take every game as it comes an judge every game differently, O’Neil got team selection wrong, carvalho shouldn’t of started n neither should diver Karim but how many of us would of put them in cus of what happened over the weekend??

Steviec26,
Cant argue with you much about last nights performance which was indeed a little woeful but I feel criticism of the manager at this stage is perhaps premature to say the least.
He has inherited a large squad of players many of whom for one reason or another are not fit for purpose shall we say but the introduction by him of players like Yates, Benalouane and Milosevic has been by and large a big step forward.

We have been and no doubt will continue to be dogged by a total lack of firepower up front with the absence of Grabban who I fear may be further away from fitness then we realise.

Whatever happens there must surely be a huge cull and clear out of players in the summer which in itself may prove an expensive situation because quite frankly a lot of the contracted players would not attract offers from other clubs.

Hopefully the manager will be given funds and time to create a team to play the way he wants and give us the time to judge him then.

As it stands the season is still alive and kicking for us and the queation being mooted on here about our suitability for promotion may well become a more relevant discussion within the next few weeks
