Sign colback up now an absolute no brainer it will be the Geordies loss and our gain absolute class been our best most consistent player all season, brings a calming influence much needed. Looks like Milosevic and bennionne (excuse spellings) going to be a solid partnership which we've needed for a long-time

Lc what we can shell out 13 mill for carvallho but have got to think long and hard about spending money on a player who is the anchor of the whole set up??

Stevie f, that is not what i was saying.
When we signed Carvalho for £13m i thought that was a ridiculous fee for him, yes he clearly has talent but totally unproven in English football. We spent big on what might be. We could have got two, or three cracking proven players for the cost of Carvalho's fee, if the club were being patient for success it would have been all well and good, but not with the club demanding instant success.
I was not trying to say do not sign Colback as he is not just a quality player but proven in both the PL and the Championship.
I was saying, because he has done well for us we should not be so desperate as to agree to either a silly fee, silly wages, long term contract, or all of them to get him.

He’s a free agent come June so there will be no fee as such just “ personal terms “ so it will be down to how much he wants and perhaps more importantly what he will be offered

Creepy1, You clearly missed the latest report last week saying Colback has another year on his Newcastle contract, and we have talked to them about a fee for him when his loan finishes.

Always thought he was done in June this year.
Cant imagine that they would want much of a fee just to get him off the books.
Interesting to see how it pans out because I would love to see him here

If we don't have to pay much free then a lot of wages for such a solid player is fine. He doesn't miss many games eithr except his regular suspensions for too many yellow cards.
