The current manager at his club does not want him, and just one more year on his contract, and at 29 years old, and a quality player.

Redtree, Although i would not blame him for going back and trying his luck should Newcastle get a new manager, there no point trying to keep him if he has not the desire to try and help us to get promoted next season.
If he decides to go back and it does not work out for him who would want him other than on loan, as others has said his wages could be a problem.
Would Newcastle want to be stuck paying the majority of his wages for one more season.
