Was watching Jordan and souness on talksport and one very valid point was made by souness . It was never certain last season that we were going up, as it went to the wire. So at which point were the club scrutinising players to recruit for a campaign in the prem. impossible to cast the net so far and wide and find genuine quality over such a short period of time and they apparently were interested in many more than the 22 brought in. 6 or 7 maybe but to really scrutinise 20+ is impossible. There's no way that cooper would have recommended or even mentioned many of these players. Obrien and Williams maybe but not this lot from all over the shop. Remember the on off saga with obrien as toffolo came in a joint package, though I believe toffolo is better than imagined. Cooper would no way want this level of barmy influx and it must have totally undermined him. Bowler might have been one of his wants but look where he has been dumped. I really feel for cooper and admire the fact he has not signed on yet.
I can only think that there is a bit of argy bargy going on regarding team selection hence we have some strange selections going on. I really believe this. Lodi might be one argument cooper has lost, as it's very unlike cooper to slot a player so soon and stick with after shipping goals for fun. You can see the bewilderment in coopers eyes.
I think he has played the likes of Cooke, Yates, worrall etc as they are his players, his generals who he trusts but he's being forced with certain others and this manifests it's negatively on match day with a bunch of the players.
For me cooper is learning at this level and is being found out in his defensive ideas. That's where a Pearce would help in that department, Steven Reid gave up the ghost for a personal ambition? Or did he see the calamity unfolding. Like I have said recently, this club for its previous four years was run chaotically and calamitous under the marinakis regime, I don't see the leopard changing it's spots and expect cooper is on a knife edge and it's one more defeat then the axe. Big shame as left to his own devices cooper could have made a fist of it.

Interesting ideas Rutland, probably some truth but fingers crossed not as bad. Trouble is with confidentiality agreements and non-disclosure contracts, we may never know. Hopefully we all still 'believe in miracles' and Coops finds the round pegs for the round holes. ?.

I absolutely agree Rutland, although I think Cooper may have a little bit more involvement in team selection as player position only. Nationalist thinks it's his club, his money and he will dictate team selection, why bother with the ten a penny people who know how to manage, there is always someone who will bite on a juice carrot.

I think if Cooper drops lucky and manages to take some good points from the next 3 midland Derby's it will be because the defence will be different from previous games . We can score goals at this level but seem to be open at the back tighten up and who knows! . OBrian must start Fester will start Vardy we are too slow at the back he will run Cooke ragged hope I'm wrong . COYR.
