Following the massive highs of last season under Steve Cooper I would have thought it near impossible to criticise him in any way. The man who gave us our club back after so many others failed so badly. We as fans don't know why so many average players have been brought in for huge amounts of money and wages and if they are your choice or not, in the main I hope not. We have a few very good signings in there it must be said such as O Brien but at the same time outnumbered by those who either are not good enough or don't share his love of the club and are happy on the big salary and long contracts. Big egos don't sit well with not been selected or been sub. Another big problem for Coops, despite the line that was required, twenty two, really. But what concerns me most is we are not getting the best team on the field and we are not using the right tactics to give us half a chance in the big league. Build from the back, well we certainly got the first bit right, Henderson. from there on it falls short. A back four imo is essential, ie Man. City, Liverpool, Chelsea etc don't seem to be doing to badly with a four. Defenders for defending not pushing to far up and getting caught out. That might have worked in the championship but not in the prem. The other obvious one is to keep selecting players who are not doing putting in the graft required, and again I come back to players such as Brennan Johnson. It would do him good and the team to be shown your good but not that good. Pick the form players and those who really want to put in the effort, whatever the score is at the time. Nothing less should be acceptable. Sorry Steve but it needs saying and implementing, ASAP. Mr Marinakis what settle for anything less than the Prem. if you know what I mean. Good luck. U REDS.

I too have said things in the past, hopefully not to cutting. Just a thought, Cooper has to lift, comfort encourage players to do his will on the pitch, but who puts an arm around him when a lift in his moral is required. It's a lonely old game being a manager. It's not the wage packet at this point, a bit more of a chant aimed at him might give him the tonic he needs.
